I am passionate about identifying and measuring student engagement and have been researching student engagement since my teaching career began in 1984.
In 1996 I began researching and developing a way to identify students at risk of dropping out of high school which led me once again to the construct of student engagement and the development of the SOS ED.
I recently updated the SOS ED to implement it with students as early as 6th grade.
I am seeking forward-minded, cutting edge administrators, to partner with me in using the SOS ED to identify the engagement levels of schools in their schools. How do we improve what we do not measure?
There needs to be a paradigm revolution in education which recognizes that all academic achievement and success is based on student engagement.
